They can be found in most baking products such as cookies and cakes as well as a lot of traditional items in your food pantry such as peanut butter. However, trans fats are easy to spot because all you need to do is look to see if the term hydrogenated oils is on the back of the food label. If it is, then that product contains trans fats. They cause cancer, kill brain cells, and cause heart disease. However… This is not one of the foods I am talking about. One of the foods that I am talking about is wheat. Wheat can be found in all types of foods such as breads, pastas, cereal, crackers, bagels, and muffins. You see, a lot of people have an intolerance to wheat products, not an allergy. This can cause gastro intestinal discomfort, bloating, and weight loss problems. Many people just pass this off as normal, but in reality its not. Wheat was never in our diets as we evolved until only a couple thousand years ago when we started domesticating. Another type of food that you would think is good for you but really isn’t is fruit juice. When we think of the word fruit, we think of all the health benefits that this wonderful food provides. However, because of food manufacturing practices today, a lot of the juice that you get from supermarkets and grocery stores is full of sugar and fruit from concentrate.
