(SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY, PLEASE!) What are some simple exercises for someone with morbidly big thighs and hips?
Question by StardustMemrees: (SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY, PLEASE!) What are some simple exercises for someone with morbidly big thighs and hips?
I have Stage 2b Cervical Cancer that is currently in remission (as of April 14, 2008) and while my abdomen has flattened due to my full hysterectomy, my hips and thighs have become morbidly big and disgusting to look at and I also have, what the dr termed as weepy varicose veins that are popping up.
My dr suggested support hose, but with this being summer, I don’t want to wear them.
Because I am not working, I can not afford to join a gym and I do not have any type of exercise routine because, plain and simple, I really don’t know what kinds of exercises to do (other than maybe going for a short walk) or how many of things like sit ups, etc. to do.
Can someone suggest a simple plan for me and recommend some exercises that I can do from my home WITHOUT needing to go out and buy any expensive gym equipment?
I am a female in my mid-40s, 5’7¾”, 226lbs.,and I do have asthma, Reynaurd’s Disease (a circulatory disorder) and seizure disorder, but my dr says I am healthy enough to do some light exercising.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Squats for the hips and bum. Stand up straight and bend your legs as if you are sitting on a chair. Do this 20 times, and build up slowly.
Sideways lifts for thighs – tie a baked bean can on to your ankle. Stand up straight and move one leg up and sideways. Do this 20 times and build up.
Walking is good too.

I lost over thirty pounds in about 8 months by just walking just twenty blocks, (rural town size),for five days a week. I made sure that my diet had ALOT of fruits & veggies, lower fat meats, getting the h2o & milk when thirsty, and very little, if any, junk food. My waste size went from 38 to 32! It does take a longer time than other ways if you are unable to put very much stress on your body, but it does happen! By the way, I am epileptic, so I know what that lifestyle is like! Good luck with your quest!
